According to Paul Cooper, Joseph Lowe married Charlotte Eager in 1831. Charlotte (now Mrs. Lowe) was credited with helping to bring a new wave of Polish influenced dances to Edinburgh. The publication of The Favourite Set of Mazurkas was announced in Caledonian Mercury on 17th March 1832.
