Note:
According to multiple statements Stepan Gromilov was a pseudonym of Dmitry Grigorovich, who combined and translated multiple polka-related French sources, while Nikolai Nekrasov issued them under a single cover. Additionally, Nikolai Nekrasov is believed to be the author of the «Полька в Петербурге» chapter. Images are known to be taken from [Vernier, 1844], but their titles were changed.
