Note:
There are no pages 6–9; pagination jumps straight from 4–5 to 10–11, while text remains continuous. Most of the book can be dated circa 1890. Crompton's “Guide to Modern Dancing” is advertised in the June 8, 1891 issue of the periodical “Dancing”. However, the typeface of the titles changes at page 84, and the end of this book is believed to be added material and the edition is of later time. It includes “King Edward’s Lancers” (pages 90–91), and there is no reason to have anything devoted to king Edward before his accession in 1901. A similar edition with different contents past page 84 can be found [Crompton, 1891?].
